This agreement is between you (the Contributor) and The South Asian Story. By checking the box below and submitting this form, you confirm that you have read, understood, and agree to the following terms.

  1. 1.

    Authorship & Originality

You are the sole author of the submitted work. The work is original and has not been published, posted online, or submitted for review at any other publication. If your piece draws on previously published material you authored, you must disclose this at the time of submission.

  2. 2.

You retain full copyright over your submitted work. Nothing in this agreement transfers ownership of the work to The South Asian Story.

  3. 3.

    Publication Licence

You grant The South Asian Story a non-exclusive, worldwide, royalty-free licence to publish, display, and archive your work on this platform. Right to Decline or Unpublish

The South Asian Story reserves the right to decline any submission without explanation. After publication, we may unpublish a piece if we receive credible information that it contains a material factual error, if it is found to have been plagiarised, or if continued publication would endanger an identifiable individual.

  6. 6.

    Accuracy & Liability

You are responsible for the factual accuracy of all claims made in your submission. You agree to provide source references for any material facts if requested by the editorial team. You indemnify The South Asian Story against any third-party claims arising from factual inaccuracies, defamatory content, or rights infringements in your submission.

  7. 7.

    Source Safety

If your submission contains information about identifiable individuals — including sources, subjects, or third parties — you confirm that its publication will not create a foreseeable safety risk to those individuals. If you have any doubt, you must flag this to the editorial team before submission. We may request changes or decline to publish where a safety risk cannot be mitigated.

    Attribution

Your work will be published under the name and affiliation you provide in this form. If you wish to publish under a pseudonym or without an affiliation for safety reasons, please contact the editorial team before submitting. We support anonymised and pseudonymous publication in appropriate circumstances.
